When Covid-19 hit our global economy on the last quarter of 2019 we knew we were in for a flight.

Up to now in 2021, scientist are saying that this could be the new norm till 2025. Therefore we need to adjust the way we transact one favorite commodity cash. This is due to Covid-19 reliant measures of using digital cash over physical cash as one of the measures of preventing mass spreading of the virus.

Here in Kenya we have our mobile money frontier Safaricom, that offers mobile money services M-Pesa since 2004 and has eased digital cash payments for Kenyans.

There has also has been a crypto upsurge from 2015 where you could do internet M-Pesa’ with Bitcoin which also hit Kenya & the global scene by storm.

Currently, Bitcoin is gaining prominence and has hit a crazy high value of Ksh. 6,800,000 in 2nd Quarter of 2021 and may go up to Ksh. 33,000,000 in the next 3–5 years as predicted by Citibank. This is because it has withstood the volatile era of 2017 and institutional investors are now considering it alongside currency and gold investments.

Banks want to enter the space by issuing Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) that will automate how banks transact globally and offer real-time currency valuations.

Imagine with all these digital solutions being offered, its time we consider digital cash and how we can still enjoy it without limitations and risk.

Bitcoin has been there since 2009 and has stood the test of time, where merchants and the every day ‘Kimani’ wants to have a bite of it now and in the near future.

The best way to do this is to use Bitcoin as your everyday exchange of goods and services like the way the sovereign state of El Salvador accepts Bitcoin as legal tender from June 2021.

Go get your Bitcoin sticker, download a wallet and join the ‘’e-cash network.’’
